i guess i haven’t posted in a while…. been otherwise engaged…

tonight i drove over a nail. it made my tire go flat. i called volkswagen roadside assistance and they informed me that i am not covered. that dirty rotten used car salesman is going to hear an earful  from me on tuesday.

why don’t my brothers live close to me?

more photos

i guess one good thing about having a cold is that i am forced to stay indoors and entertain myself. after getting a crap-load of work done, i was able to tackle my 1GB card-o-photos from the last trip to wreck.

w00t- some photos are great! check out my flickr account for some, plus i made a gallery that you can view the sandcastle pics on.

have fun + enjoy ;)

canada

the cbc and sounds like canada are running a ‘contest’ to find the seven wonders of canada. this intrigued me when i heard about it on the radio the other day because i would love to learn more about our amazing country and find out new cool places to visit. and then i started thinking about what my vote would be. i’m stumped.

what is a wonder? what does wonder mean? from the princeton wordnet:

  • the feeling aroused by something strange and surprising
  • something that causes feelings of wonder; “the wonders of modern science”
  • be amazed at; “We wondered at the child’s linguistic abilities”
  • curiosity: a state in which you want to learn more about something

i like the curiosity definition. there are many many places and things in canada that i feel the kind of wonder where i would love to learn more about that place or thing.

with that in mind, what place or thing would i vote for as one of the seven wonders of canada? stanley park? wreck beach? dallas road? lynn valley? the north shore mountains? in all honesty, every time the sun shines in vancouver i am filled with wonder. this city is so beautiful, i am in love with our air, land, trees, and water. i even get a kick out of our buildings.

well, i guess that’s it. i have made up my mind. one of the seven wonders of canada should be the beautiful city of vancouver. eat your heart out toronto.
