alternatives
Published June 29th, 2007 in activism, informed choices.more and more the world is waking up to realize that we need to be responsible, and think of alternatives in order to preserve the earth. unlike canada and the usa, many countries are actually putting these ideas into practice instead of just yabbering about them. politicizing environmental sustainability makes me sick. but on to better and brighter things; let’s see what our neighbours are doing:
Australia: implemented a “Building Greenhouse Rating” scheme that helps reduce energy use and greenhouse emissions
Sweden: turning confiscated smuggled alcohol into biofuel
Nairobi: works toward food sovereignty by conserving seed and enhancing traditional organic systems of agriculture
Germany: Architectural Green Solar Network
England:promoting the use of wind power in and around the UK, both onshore and offshore
