I’m a little late at finding this gem, but here it is! Björk’s latest masterpiece, Náttúra. It’s somewhat a rally-call, major press release type thing calling for attention and activism surrounding the environment in Iceland.
It’s pretty sweet: intense drum beats that she swiped and chopped up from Brian Chippendale‘s recordings for Earth Intruder plus haunting background vocals from fellow earth crusader Thom Yorke. Björk says that she hates the emailed song collaboration but felt so much urgency regarding the environmental crisis in Iceland that she conceded to the form from a hotel room while on tour.

According to the Náttúra website, “The single was composed specifically to encourage active support for the Náttúra campaign, which aims at collating and providing sustainable and eco-friendly options suitable for Iceland, and generating alternative ways to utilize it’s natural resources.”
