The great minds at the Dogwood Initiative have come up with yet another awesome campaign to raise environmental awareness in Canada. This one is an effort to protect BC’s coast from oil spills and basically is a protest against the creation of a pipeline that would bring oil from the tar sands through BC to Kitimat where it would be transferred to the tankers.
They have created awesome little protest decals that you can put on your loonies to transform them into what an environment looks like after a spill. Please check out the campaign and have fun with their interactive map that tracks these modified toonie sightings across Canada.

We the people must stand united against the corrupted corporations and politicians or we all will perish.
just got the loonie in chilliwack bc and i must say that iam strongly against any all pipelines to the coast. I love to fish and to hunt and we already have so many things to deal with within the environment that th last thing we need is a big pipeline to the coast. I want my kids to be able to do the same things as they get older and i fear that we are being swallowed by the greed of only a few. It needs to stop and we need to take a stand.
