I’m so happy to announce the launch of another fantastic client site last month, Ironwood Yoga Studios!
This project was such a creative inspiration to work on as the brand is all about Grace & Grit. We worked with feelings of meaning, diversity, community, strength, inspiration, and expansiveness to build a brand that reflects the values of Ironwood Yoga Studios.
Congratulations, Leah! I can’t wait to see the new studio when I visit Phoenix next!!
Jamie, gorgeous site! I really love the typography you chose…and I’m a sucker for clean B & W. Makes me wish I could check out the studio! 🙂
Awe, thanks so much Christine!!
Working on the site with Leah was so much fun and I’ve put a visit to Ironwood Yoga Studios on my bucket list!
First off I would like to say wonderful blog! I had a quick question which I’d like to ask if you do not mind. I was curious to know how you center yourself and clear your mind before writing.
I have had a hard time clearing my thoughts in getting my thoughts out there.
I truly do enjoy writing however it just seems like the first 10
to 15 minutes are wasted simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or hints?
Thanks!
Hiya Candice,
Thanks for your question! First I’d want to let you know that I don’t think there are any secret formulas to creativity. I used to think my creativity needed space, endless space, in the form of time.
I used to think my creativity could be activated under a very precise set of rituals (light the candle, wear the scarf, sit at that desk. in that chair).
But now I know that I can be creative under pressure and on the fly!
A couple things that do help me out so that I don’t waste time are:
1. Start with an editorial calendar. When you’ve got 6-12 months of blog post titles, CTAs, etc planned out you can be more intentional about your writing and weave it in to your sales cycles.
2. Batch it. Whenever I’ve got a project to do whether it’s one of these mood board posts or social media or writing, I’ll sit down and tackle a bunch of them at once. This is also super good for your productivity as you’ll be in the flow and you won’t have to context shift.
3. Give yourself a break. Before starting on a new task or sets of tasks, I’ll stand up, stretch, maybe go for a walk, dance it out, or even do the dishes! I find that doing something active can give my creativity the refresh + reboot it needs!
Hope this helps!
