The reason I start with a mood board on any design project is to set the mood/feeling of the project. It is one of the first deliverables that will guide us creatively throughout the project.
In each mood board I ;include visuals and key images that best convey the essence of the design project.
In this board I started with the words: minimal, clean, unique, muted.
I worked to find both images and colours that would communicate and visually represent those words.
Once I’ve got a visual mood nailed in a the board, I can continue building a visual language by using colours. I’ll usually try to pick two-three analogous colours and one complementary colour to add contrast:
