A bold online brand experience that advances gender equity.

Angela Marie MacDougall, the Executive Director of Battered Women’s Support Services, brought me on board to help her organization launch a new gender equity tool with the goal of gathering and sharing community-based knowledge and intersectional learning to advance gender equity and end gender-based violence.

A province-wide effort to mobilize community-based experiences and evidence-informed resources from an intersectional, anti-oppressive, feminist and critical race theory, analysis, and practice, they needed everything from branding to a digital presence that would serve as a hub from where they could gather and share community-based knowledge and intersectional learning.

The outcome was a bold, positive brand and a super functional website that not only meets the goals of collating and disseminating community-based resources and knowledge, but also allows the team to fundraise, increase awareness, grow their advocacy base, and deepen the engagement of supporters.

All of the brand assets are contained in a 27-page brand style guide that covers audience, archetypes, attributes, logomark suite, colours, and typography along with patterns and real-world examples to help the Gender Equity Learning and Knowledge Exchange team keep brand consistency as the campaign rolls out.
